As clear as day

THE LOWDOWN

Mackenzie Wheeler Architects + Designers are based in Shoreditch. Amongst other things they describe themselves as creatives who enjoy the intense attention to detail and style required by public spaces. That meticulousness was apparent in the artwork they asked us to turn into a self-adhesive window vinyl graphic. A creative architectural sketch spanning three huge glass panels, we took half a day and applied it onto their office window, located in a little sun trap on Redchurch Street. Instead of using simple fine lines, the sprawling design was made to look like textured scratches, giving the optical illusion of having been etched onto the glass instead of affixed from behind – pretty neat, right?

THE SPECS

Client artwork recreated in white ink, and reverse printed onto premium quality, optically clear vinyl. Laid out and applied across three glass panels totalling 1600mm x 2492mm in size.

We made the simple, fine lines of the original design look like textured scratches. Giving the optical illusion that it had been etched on the glass instead of printed on.
